Miyamoto Katana

This katana is named after the famous Japanese swordsman who was the victor in over 60 duels in his lifetime. This 29.5 inch 1095 Daimyo blade has a stone polished finish, a wide blade, and a precisely carved Bo-Hi to reduce the overall weight. A very pleasant Midare pattern hamon runs the full length of the pristine blade. The new 11 inch tsuka core has a buffalo horn Fuchi and Kashira, and is wrapped in Navy Blue silk tsukaito imported from Japan. A full rayskin wrap with a hidden seam strengthens the tsuka core, and under the silk is a pair of Hat and Boat Paddle menuki in a silver finish, symbols of Musashi Miyamoto. The Steel Tsuba is a Higo design based on the Musashi tsuba, and the habaki and seppa have been richly plated in silver. The Ishime finished saya is lacquered in a dark blue finish, and the premium sageo is wrapped in a traveling fashion. This beautiful mount would be perfect in a collection, as a Iaito, or for light cutting.
