Kuro Hisui Katana

Jade is a beautiful gemstone prized in most Asian cultures. Its colours range from a bright milky green to as black as night. The "Black Jade" katana features a Daimyo class 28.5 inch 1095 blade that has a hand carved bo hi, and has been polished with Japanese polishing stones. The 11 inch Tsuka core is battle wrapped in a dark green silk tsukamaki, with new black lacquered rayskin panels, both imported from Japan. The Fuchi and Kashira were plated in copper, then oxidized to a darker shade. The saya is lacquered in a dark green with a faint speckled finish. The front of the saya has been wrapped with rattan that has been inlayed flush with the rest of the saya, sanded smooth, and lacquered black. This is a light and quick blade geared for Iaido practice or sessions of light cutting.
