ARCHIVE: 28.5" Bushi 1095 Hayashi Custom Katana - SOLD

The "Wood" Katana features a bare wood Saya and an inlayed rattan wrap at the throat. The Saya has been stained a dark brown with a thin clear coat of lacquer to preserve the finish. The rattan is lighter and features a thicker clear coat to create a contrasting glossy shine. The Seppa are solid copper and the brass Habaki has been copper plated to match. The Saya is coupled with a dark brown Tsukamaki imported from Japan, a Tsuba featuring some trees, copper plated flowers, a horse in bronze plating, and a floral themed Menuki set.  This Katana retains a very earthy sense to it. The Fuchi is plated with copper and antiqued, and the Kashira is carved and shaped from black buffalo horn. The blade has also received a light polish to brighten the Hamon.
