Tsutaryoku II Katana
The "Green Ivy" Mark II takes the theme in a new direction. The 11 inch Tsuka has been wrapped in a dark green silk with matching Sageo, and features a solid silver Fuchi in Vine motif. The Kashira is a matching silver plated Vine theme. The Samekawa under the wrap has been given a slight yellow brown tint to resemble aging, and the Menuki are Kiri themed. The Habaki, new Seppa, and the steel Musashi style Tsuba have been plated in silver. The Saya is done in a stone Ishime finish. The blade is Bushi class 1095 steel with a precisely carved Bo Hi. It has been repolished to reveal a whiter hamon pattern, and also some Tobiyaki (white hardened areas of steel not in the hamon pattern) on several areas of the blade. One area has been photographed. This slender and sleek blade makes a classy edition into the Tsutaryoku line.
